The infamous strider from Half Life 2. I made it from just about the same base as the HL2 hunter but made the legs skinnier and stuff. I had a rough draft of this that I made from memory so the upper body was disproportional and anatomically incorrect so I made a refold where I accidentally ripped some of the paper. I might try to do a cleaner refold but I don’t really feel like doing one anytime soon.

Half Life 2 Hunter

IMG_0029 IMG_0030 IMG_0031 IMG_0032<-The back leaves something to be desired.

Another video game hunter, this time from the Half Life 2 universe. I never finished playing Episode two which in turn means I never really faced these guys but they are still pretty cool. The design is pretty basic as its base comes from a bird base (same base as a crane) and is the same base used for the strider I made.

Dragon born ver.1

IMG_0090<-Sorry for the really cruddy pictures.

IMG_0091

Half man, half dragon. I thought this would be a really cool idea but it would have worked better if it could stand up on its own and if it was slight’y more proportionate (the dragon parts were slightly larger than the human parts so I probably will make a new one later. The wing turned out better than I had hoped but that was just about the only thing that that wasn’t standard.

Mini Devil

My variation of Jun Maekawa’s famous devil (you can find it by searching on the interwebs). The only thing it really share with the original is the head (like most variations out there). the arms are longer and legs are no longer really in existence just as is the tail but the wings are still there and it is my design.

IMG_0080<-Hand

One of the later variations of a variation of Fernando Gilgado’s alien. I found this in my box o’ origami and even though I made it a while ago, I think it still looks pretty good. Just about the only thing I made myself was the hand on the left (which looks pretty messy) and I think I was just getting lazy for the right arm.

IMG_0089<-Older version. From here it doesn’t look much better but the folding process worked much better than the current one

IMG_0092

I hated these things because I never took full advantage of the gravity gun’s capabilities. I had a much (what seemed) simpler version that I made quite a while ago but when I tried to recreate it this weekend, I just couldn’t get it. It took much longer but I think it it slight nicer than the previous version except for the ugly point split that makes up the top two feathers. Also the stupid model wouldn’t stand up by itself so I had to prop it up.

Unfortunately, this companion can/will threaten to stab you (Portal reference :D). Inspired by the CliffsNotes video on the play Julius Caesar.(http://videos.huffingtonpost.com/women/cliffsnotes-julius-caesar-517170278)
I thought designing this would be much, MUCH easier (I mean come on, its only stick with hands/ legs) but it turned out to be quite a challenge.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day

IMG_0073<-Contrary to popular belief, that is GREEN!!!

Not being Irish myself, it’s strange that I would celebrate this somewhat minor (to me) holiday with a blog post but I actually remembered to participate in the festivities by wearing green and since a four leaf clover is one of the “duh” designs, I quickly made the model and photographed it something close to 7 minutes.

Made from a single uncut square sheet of GREEN (First model on this blog with color!!!) printer paper.

An extremely low time budget leads to poorly designed models (designing during school lunch time leaves little time for the design process. I probably will try making a different and better version when I have more time. Based off the Zerg unit from Starcraft 2.
